Michael Corasaniti, chairman, CEO and chief investment officer of Tourmalet Advisors, and David Mussafer, managing partner and co-chairman of the executive committee of Advent International, have joined the Board of Tulane.
“These two gentlemen bring knowledge, vision and leadership to a board that is already among the very best in all of higher education,” Tulane President Mike Fitts said.
Corasaniti earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Tulane and an MBA from Columbia University, where he is also an adjunct professor. He is a member of the Tulane President’s Council, the Paul Tulane Society and the School of Liberal Arts’ Dean’s Advisory Council. He is a past member of the Tulane College Dean’s Advisory Council and the Annual Fund Reunion Committee.
He established the Corasaniti Scholarship Endowed Fund, which provides need-based support for students in the schools of Liberal Arts and Science and Engineering. He also created the Michael A. Corasaniti and Valerie A. Zondorak Chair in International Politics at Tulane and the Anthony F. and Mary Anne Corasaniti Award, a merit and need-based award named for his parents, to support students majoring in political science, economics, political economy or a modern foreign language. Corasaniti lives with his wife Valerie Ann Zondorak and their two children in New York.
“As a firm believer in the power of education to change lives, I am thrilled to accept this leadership position to help ensure that higher education is available to the greatest number of deserving students, regardless of their socio-economic background,” Corasaniti said.
Mussafer received a bachelor of science in management from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the President's Council at Tulane and founder of the Mussafer Family Endowment Fund, which supports the Cowen Institute for Public Education Initiatives. He lives with his wife, Marion Magill Mussafer, and their four children in Weston, Mass.
“Many members of my family are Tulane alumni, including my parents, my sister, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. I am thrilled to play a role in the governance of a university to which I am so connected and that is so engaged in the vital mission of education, research and service,” Mussafer said.
