Tulane University entrepreneurship experts will give their advice for starting successful new ventures as part of Tulane Day next week during the 5th Annual New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW).

Tulane Day, scheduled from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, at Gallier Hall, will highlight the university’s role in attracting, training and supporting the next generation of business innovators and feature panels on building better entrepreneurs and how new ventures can capitalize on emerging markets in New Orleans.  Avram Glazer, co-chairman of Manchester United Football Club, will deliver the event’s keynote address.

All Tulane Day events are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is open at www.ideavillage.org.

“Tulane has a long history as one of the city’s biggest resources for entrepreneurs,” said Ralph Maurer, panel moderator and executive director of the university’s Levy-Rosenblum Institute for Entrepreneurship. “That support has evolved to leverage all of our strengths across schools and disciplines — including business, energy, medicine, engineering, environmental sustainability and social entrepreneurship — to produce top entrepreneurial talent for the region. More than a third of the companies competing in the business challenges associated with Entrepreneur Week have a connection to Tulane this year.”

NOEW is hosted each year by The Idea Village, a 12 year old nonprofit that identifies, supports and retains entrepreneurs in New Orleans. This year, NOEW is expected to gather 3,000 of the nation’s most innovative business leaders, financiers, entrepreneurs and students to support New Orleans entrepreneurs through more than 55 events.
