WHAT: More than 30 Louisiana high school students will learn what it’s like to train to become a physician as part of Career M.D. Day, a hands-on career day hosted by Tulane University School of Medicine. Students will conduct medical procedures on life-like robotic mannequins at the Tulane Center for Advanced Medical Simulation and Team Training, learning lessons in CPR, emergency medicine, robotic surgery, suturing exercises and adult physical exams.
WHO: Medical students and high school juniors and seniors considering careers in health care.
WHEN: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4.
WHERE: Third floor of the Murphy Building, 131 S. Robertson St.
MORE: The event is co-sponsored by the Central Louisiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC), a non-profit agency developed to address the growing shortage of healthcare workers in rural areas across the state.
