Volunteers

Under the scrutiny of a video crew, Debbie Brown Britt and Rachelle Galanti Parker operate a chop saw at a Habitat for Humanity construction site in eastern New Orleans. The two are among a group of Tulane University alumnae who for eight years have returned to the city each November to contribute to post-Hurricane Katrina rebuilding. The women's efforts received the attention of “The Queen Latifah Show,” which will air a second segment about them in an upcoming episode.

 Homeowners

Clockwise from top left, homeowners Courtney Carter, LaToure Steward and Donesty Steward take a break from construction to pose for a picture.
