Rhonda Greene peruses a selection from the Amistad Research Center’s used book sale that was held Friday and Saturday (Nov. 1-2). Housed in Tilton Memorial Hall on the Tulane University uptown campus, the center is the nation’s oldest and largest independent archive specializing in African Americans and other ethnic minorities.
While checking out the sale, architecture professor Scott Ruff (left) pauses to discuss the collection with Amistad executive director Lee Hampton.
The sale comprised books on a variety of topics, including the Civil Rights movement and abolition, politics and government, medicine, military, music and biography.
