Daylily

In the distance, Newcomb Hall rises above a daylily planted in the gardens around Josephine Louise Hall on the Tulane University uptown campus. Not true lilies, the flowers belong to the genus Hemerocallis (Greek for “day beauty”); their blooms typically last for only a day.
