Pie Day

Ryan Swinney, a junior majoring in engineering physics, takes a pie to the face last Thursday as part of an on-campus observance of Pi Day, the annual celebration of the mathematical constant pi. Pi Day occurs on March 14 (3-14) each year in recognition of the numerical value of pi, which is 3.14. The event was hosted by the Tulane Society of Physics Students. The pie thrower is Felicia Applebaum, a junior who is majoring in math.
