The construction, care and upkeep of buildings, as well as landscaping at Tulane University, come under new leadership as the university welcomes Jim Alty as the new vice president for facilities management and campus development.
“Joining the Tulane team at this critical time is very exciting,” says Alty. "With the construction of Yulman Stadium, Zimple residence hall and the expansion of Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, there is an opportunity for Tulane to become an even more vibrant campus. I am looking forward to helping in guiding that growth.”
Alty's responsibilities include the 110 acres and 80 buildings on the Tulane uptown campus as well as the health sciences campus in downtown New Orleans, which has several divisions including the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and the J. Bennett Johnston Health and Environmental Research Building.
Chase Vicenzi is a junior at Tulane who is studying communication and political science.
