Super Bowl XLVIII is set to be one of the coldest in the history of the game. But did you know that Tulane Stadium, which once stood on the uptown campus where the new Yulman Stadium is being built now, holds that record? Yep, it was 1972 during Super Bowl VI and it was 39 degrees.

Roger Dunaway, assistant athletics director for athletics communications at Tulane University, says there are other notable facts that Green Wave fans should know about the old Tulane Stadium.

In addition to having the stadium record-of-coldness, Tulane also has a slew of alumni who have played in the World Championship game.

“Tulane Stadium was the host site for three of the first nine Super Bowls in 1970, 1972 and 1975,” Dunaway adds. “The 1975 Super Bowl was supposed to be played at the new Louisiana Superdome, but the facility was not completed in time to host the game.”

Here’s a list of Tulane alumni who have played in a Super Bowl. See how many you remember.
