The audience welcomed Mike Golic with slightly greater applause than his "Mike and Mike in the Morning" co-host, Mike Greenberg, during their Super Bowl-week visit to Tulane University on Tuesday (Jan. 29) at McAlister Auditorium. Golic instantly won over the audience when he strolled on stage wearing a Tulane T-shirt.

Golic, a former NFL lineman, and Greenberg, a television and radio personality, shared their own humorous sports stories and discussed current sports issues, including Super Bowl XLVII.

Although the NFL changes the location of the Super Bowl each year, Golic thinks it should be otherwise.

“New Orleans is the best place for a Super Bowl,” Golic said. “I think this is the best place to hold a major event for the convenience of everything and just the ability to do a whole lot of things.”

During the course of the evening, the duo talked about their careers and shared what led them to develop their two distinctly different approaches to sports. Their constant banter kept the audience laughing.

The event featured a guest appearance from Tulane head football coach Curtis Johnson, who won the 2009 Super Bowl as wide receivers coach for the New Orleans Saints.

Johnson offered his Super Bowl prediction, saying, “I think the Ravens' defense is playing sensational. I think the Ravens will win by three points."

As the evening concluded, Johnson and the Mikes took questions from the audience, but many of them were only meant to solicit a comedic response.

One person asked, “Would you rather go on a date with A. J. McCarron’s girlfriend or Manti Te’o’s girlfriend?”

The hosts were available for pictures and autographs after the program.
