Unpacking Dimensions of Publicly-Engaged Scholarship – Implications for Faculty Advancement

Andy Furco, Associate Vice President for Public Engagement at the University of Minnesota, and John Saltmarsh, Director of New England Resource Center for Higher Education at the University of Massachusetts, will will examine the foundational components of publicly-engaged scholarship in the context of national trends in higher education.  The session will examine the ways in which publicly-engaged scholarship is used to advance knowledge in the disciplines. The session will also provide participants an opportunity to share their experiences with and questions about publicly-engaged scholarship.
