Academic Success

Support Newcomb-Tulane College's Top Priorities

Your gift to Newcomb-Tulane College directly supports the undergraduate student experience. Whether you want to direct your gift toward the college's most immediate and pressing needs or create a lasting legacy, Newcomb-Tulane College offers a number of ways for alumni, parents and friends of the university to make a real difference. You can make a current-use gift that will be put to use immediately for any purpose you choose. Or you can create an endowed fund to support the program of your choice in perpetuity.

While there are myriad programs at Newcomb-Tulane College that need support, our top priorities for this academic year are:

Engaged Learning Opportunities

Students enroll at Tulane because of the outstanding learning experiences – inside the classroom and out. Newcomb-Tulane College provides a wide range of opportunities to actively engage with their studies, including study abroad, the Honors Program, and grants to support student-driven research and projects. Your gift to Newcomb-Tulane can

  • Establish study-abroad grants to make international travel available to every student, regardless of their financial situation
  • Create seed funds for international service learning and international internships to allow students opportunities to do volunteer work abroad
  • Expand the Honors curriculum, by bolstering course development and adding faculty
  • Award research grants to promising students

Academic Success Center

Tulane's Academic Success Center provides Tulane undergraduate students with resources, services, individualized instruction, and support to enhance student learningand personal skills. The Center focuses on two student populations: at-risk students and high-achieving students. Effective advising and tutoring can turn around a student's academic career or prepare them to compete in the highly competitive, tech-savvy job market. Your gift to Newcomb-Tulane can

  • Grow our Dean Jean Fellows faculty mentoring program
  • Increase the number of students served by our professional success coaches and peer educators

Career Exploration and Preparation

Career Wave is a series of events that prepares students to search for internships and jobs. Events, both large-scale and small, are targeted to specific stages in a student's undergraduate career and a range of career interests. These programs equip students with essential skills like networking, interviewing, and resume-writing. The program is a collaboration between career centers from across the university and the Office of Alumni Relations. Your gift to Newcomb-Tulane College can

  • Bring prominent professionals to campus to mentor and advise students on career preparation
  • Develop a career curriculum for first- and second-year students
  • Establish travel stipends for internships
