Experiential Engagement

Tulane University connects its values and mission to the needs of the city of New Orleans, the state, and the nation. Community involvement is now more important than ever as the university participates in the rebirth of New Orleans. Faculty and staff lend their expertise to rebuilding efforts and students gain real-world experience while putting their skills to use in the community. The Experiential Engagement core (CELT-EE) within the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching will support and sustain experiential learning and mentoring by focusing on internships and externships. Experiential learning opportunities through career-related activities such as internships, externships, and co-operative learning are designed to provide students with an experience in which they apply their knowledge from the classroom to situations beyond the college campus.
