How much does it cost to get a tutor?

Nothing. Tutoring is free to all Tulane University undergraduate students.

How qualified are the tutors?

All tutors are nationally Certified Peer Educators. Tutors are graduate and undergraduate students who have excelled in the courses they tutor. Tutors are required attend training sessions throughout the semester.

How much can a tutor help me?

TASC is not a homework or proofreading service. Peer Educators teach skills to enable students to be successful on their own. Tutors may demonstrate the theory, provide a detailed explanation, or solve a similar type of homework problem, but not solve the homework problem itself.  Examples may be devised or obtained from a textbook.  Tutors are not allowed to work with students on take-home tests.  If a student arrives at TASC with a test and claims the instructor granted permission for assistance with the test, tutors should request to speak with the instructor to confirm the permission, or direct the student to the Manager of Academic Success Resources.

Can I study at TASC?

Yes. There are computers, printing, and tables/chairs.

How can I apply to be a tutor?

Visit the Student Employment page and fill out the Peer Educator application.
