About Us

The Investment Office oversees investment of the university's operating funds and investments including the endowment, the permanent capital of Tulane University, which provides funding to support the academic mission of the institution for current and future students.

Controller's Office
The Controller's Office provides timely, accurate, and meaningful financial information and advice to the university community to support management decision-making, and to demonstrate fiscal responsibility, accountability, and regulatory compliance to maintain the financial stability necessary to achieve the University's mission as a whole.

  • The office of Grants and Contracts Accounting is dedicated to serving the post-award needs of investigators and departmental administrators by providing a post-award accounting function for all sponsored awards received by the university. The office is responsible for establishing accounts for new awards in the university accounting system, entering the appropriate budget and overhead information for each award, and preparing all billing and financial reporting as required by the sponsoring agency. The department also participates in the administration of awards. Assistance is provided to investigators and administrators on issues such as allowability of costs, availability of funds, cost sharing, and general information regarding accounting and costing policies. Other areas of responsibility include grants and contracts accounts receivable, award closeout, record retention, and coordination of the annual OMB A-133 audit.

  • Materials Management administers the centralized purchasing services for all departments of the University. Performing these services in accordance with sound and prudent business practices, the department seeks to realize for the University the maximum value for every dollar expended. Additionally, Materials Management is responsible for the material distribution of purchased material to various departments on the uptown and downtown campuses and operation of the Health Sciences Center Storeroom and Linen Room.

The Budget Office prepares, distributes, and monitors the university's fiscal year, and decentralized operating budget to assure compliance with the policies and procedures set forth by the Senior Officers and as approved by the Board of Administrators. As an active University finance team member, they cooperatively and collaboratively participate in shaping policy and performance for the University's financial and business management.

Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve university operations. The Internal Audit Department helps the university accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.


Facilities Management and Development
The office of Facilities Management and Development provides university-wide strategic leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight to campus facilities planning and the engineering, design, and construction, and efficient operation of the physical facilities on all campuses and off-campus locations. Operations include a wide array of services including maintenance, repairs, renewal, and replacement, provision of utilities and energy management, grounds keeping, custodial, fire and life safety, and recycling. Facilities planning includes comprehensive campus master planning and annual capital planning consistent with the university's strategic plan and mission statement. The office is also responsible for management of the university's real estate holdings.

  • Facilities Services Uptown supports the academic mission of the university through planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of the physical assets of the university in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

  • Facilities Services Downtown oversees the university's physical downtown campus. It manages campus construction, renovations and maintenance; provides architectural designs with job estimates; custodial and operations maintenance services; and parking in several garages around the campus.

  • Capital Projects and Real Estate Group provides the professional and technical skill sets required to allow the university to acquire, construct, rehabilitate, lease, and insure the business continuity of facilities essential to meeting the academic mission.

  • The University Architect undertakes planning efforts for housing, research space and facilities, classroom and administrative facilities and allocations, open space and landscaping; parking and circulation, environmental and accessibility planning and infrastructure; designs, oversees, coordinates, and directs campus planning activities for major university construction and campus improvement projects; and develops, implements, and maintains the university's Campus Master Plan.

Police Department
TUPD Uptown and TUHSC Police Department are committed to establishing and maintaining safe campuses for Tulane's students, faculty, staff, and visitors. They are dedicated to providing the highest quality police services to protect the university and its assets. These services and programs are consistent with Tulane's values, and supportive of the department's commitment to teamwork, integrity, and excellence.
